“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” – Psalm 126:3
Dear Friends and Faithful Supporters,
As 2025 draws to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude for all that God has done through Southwest Indian Ministry Camps. Each camp this year felt more like a family reunion than an event. We’re beginning to truly know our campers—their stories, struggles, and growing faith. We’re also witnessing genuine spiritual growth among the youth.
A special highlight came during our April camp when Navajo worship band August Remedy led worship. The Holy Spirit worked powerfully through their music and testimony, and several campers made fresh commitments to follow Christ. We thank God for our summer interns, Nathan and Alcista Miller, students at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, N.D. They were a breath of fresh air as they served with energy and compassion. Their presence made a lasting impact, and we’re praying that they will return as full-time missionaries after graduation.
The twice-yearly Fry Bread Fundraisers continue to be so much more than financial events. Yes, they help keep camp affordable—but they’re also days of laughter, prayer, and fellowship. From early-morning setup to the last plate served, God’s presence fills the day. It’s hard work, but worth every minute to see customers, volunteers, and friends come together with such joy. Many dedicated volunteers are a tremendous support to the ministry, helping make the fundraiser possible.
On a personal note, our middle son Elijah will graduate from Grand Canyon University this December with a degree in Business Analytics. He already has a job lined up with the state auditor’s office! This year has also brought a fair share of health challenges for our family and parents, yet through it all, God has proven faithful. Thank you to each of you who have prayed for us—your prayers have truly carried us.
We are thrilled to report that, as of this writing, giving and expenditures have kept pace with one another. What a joy! That is only possible through your faithful partnership—your prayers, encouragement, and generous gifts. As the year closes, we invite you to prayerfully consider a year-end donation to help us finish 2025 strong and prepare for another year of ministry in 2026.
Thank you for walking beside us in this journey of faith and service. We are so grateful for you.
May God continue to richly bless you in the new year ahead!
With thankful hearts,
Doug & Becky Darfus
The God Who Multiplies
“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to distribute to the people.” — Mark 6:41
After a busy season of ministry, Jesus invited His disciples to rest. They were tired, but before they could even get to a quiet place, the crowds found them again. Instead of turning them away, Jesus was moved with compassion. He saw people who were searching, hungry, and hurting — and He met them right where they were.
When the disciples saw the size of the crowd, they focused on what they didn’t have. They did the math and quickly decided there wasn’t enough to go around. But Jesus asked them to bring what they had — five loaves and two fish — and placed it in His hands. What looked small and insignificant became more than enough. Everyone ate and was satisfied, and there were baskets full of leftovers!
This story reminds us that God still multiplies today. We don’t always have much to offer — time feels short, resources can be tight, and energy runs low. But when we give what we have to Jesus, He does what only He can do. He takes our “not enough” and turns it into abundance.

That’s what we’ve seen over and over again this year in ministry. Whether it’s a volunteer’s smile, a camper’s simple prayer, or a supporter’s faithful gift, God uses every offering to accomplish something far greater than we could ever do alone.
Maybe you feel like your loaves and fish are small — your schedule, your finances, or even your faith. Remember this story. Jesus doesn’t ask for perfection or plenty; He simply asks us to trust Him with what we have. When we do, He multiplies it for His Kingdom and for His glory.
Take courage. It is He. And He is still multiplying.
