“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2

Prayer has been at the center of much of what God has been doing in recent weeks. From the hearts of young campers learning how to talk to God, to your faithful prayers for our family and ministry, we are reminded again that prayer is not just something we do—it is how we stay connected to the One who is guiding it all. We have seen God at work, and we are grateful.
March Elementary Camp – Teaching Kids to Talk to God
We had a wonderful March Elementary Camp with 13 campers, and we were especially encouraged that 8 of them were new! Several of these new campers came from group homes where most of the children are Native American. This made the camp even more meaningful as we continue building relationships in those communities.

Our theme was all about prayer—helping kids understand that prayer is simply a conversation with God. Throughout the weekend, we walked through four ways we can pray: thankfully, boldly, honestly, and willingly. It was amazing to see the campers begin to open up and engage with God in real and personal ways.
Because it was cold, many of our activities moved indoors—but that didn’t slow things down! One of the highlights was our “Olympicpalooza”, where campers competed in a variety of fun games. We had a giant version of Ker Plop, a Tetris Balance challenge, and even a curling game using hovering “stones.” Because the Winter Olympics was so recent, curling quickly became the favorite!

Most importantly, the campers had a great time and were introduced to a deeper understanding of prayer. We would love for you to continue praying for these 13 campers—that their prayer lives would grow and that their relationship with Jesus would deepen.
A New Door Through Teaching
We also have a special praise! One of the Native American students Doug has been investing in at Nelson University is planning to join us for April camp. We are so thankful for this open door. Teaching at the university continues to create opportunities to connect with college-aged students and invite them into ministry, and we are excited to see how God uses this.

Frybread Fundraiser Update
In February, the ministry was blessed again through the annual Frybread Fundraiser, a long-standing event made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers. This fundraiser helps support the camps God has entrusted to us, and it raised about one-third of the funds needed to run camps in 2026. We are thankful for God’s provision and for the many people who faithfully serve to make this event happen each year.

Looking Ahead – A Call for Co-Laborers in Camp Ministry
We want to share a prayer request as we look ahead to the future of camp ministry. God continues to open doors and bring more opportunities than we can carry on our own, and we would love to see another couple come alongside us in this work.
We are praying for a younger couple who feels called to missions and has a heart for Native youth—people who would serve with us, help lead camps, and invest in relationships with campers.
If you know of anyone who might be sensing God’s leading in this direction, or if this stirs something in your own heart, we would love to connect. We ask you to pray that God would bring the right people in His perfect timing.
An Answer to Prayer – Our Van
Many of you have been praying for us after our van was totaled. We were able to replace the van and felt God’s provision through the process. Thank you for praying for safety, wisdom, and provision—it meant more than we can express.
Thank You
We are continually reminded that this ministry is not something we do alone. Your prayers, encouragement, and financial support make it possible for these kids to come to camp, hear the gospel, and grow in their faith.
Thank you for your faithful support and for standing with us in what God is doing in the Southwest.
With grateful hearts,
Doug & Becky Darfus
