In the Desert with the Darfi - Nov. 2018
There is a popular Christian song I often hear on 104.9 FM, the Christian radio station in Columbus, called “Counting Every Blessing.” As we head into the holiday season, our family’s blessings this year include every one of you! We are so thankful for those who have prayed, given, encouraged, or supported our family in some way. What a blessing you are! So in case you haven’t heard any good news today, the good news is you are a blessing! For all of us, an enormous blessing is the faithfulness of God. He is so good! Even when we fall short of being faithful, God is always faithful!
Here is a ministry update. We are at 45% of our monthly support! Slowly but surely, it is gathering momentum. As of November 11, we have spoken at 28 churches, 1 college, 1 family reunion, and spoken at and/or attended several missionary banquets or conferences. Josiah has been willing to participate in our presentation at multiple churches, but it always depends on the size of the congregation! Noah sang at one church and we are hoping to get him to sing again at some point. I’m working on getting Doug, Noah, and Elijah to put together a trio. We’ll see how that goes!
We hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas season! Thank you again for supporting us as we work to spread the message of Jesus Christ to the Native America people.
Noah’s first time singing at a church visit was at Daybreak CCCU in Etna.
THE MISSION:
God is calling us to serve on the American Indian Field. There are many youth who come to the Southwest Indian Ministries Center for summer camp to learn more about Jesus. Our desire is to travel out to the reservations and visit the youth, providing encouragement and spiritual support.
We still need to raise more than $5,100 in monthly support but one-time cash gifts still help. It seems overwhelming until we realize it is all of God’s money and He likes to use people to do His work.
Counting Every Blessing
“I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
You were there in the valley of shadows
You were there in the depth of my sorrows
You're my strength, my hope for tomorrow
I've been blessed beyond all measure.”
