Day 1:

This morning we left Ohio and made it to O’Fallon, IL.

Lots of driving… but as the Darfus family does, we tried to stop often to see the "sights". We missed the turn for the world’s largest wind chime and rocking chair. There was no sign for the Effingham Cross... but we got a picture as we drove past. Finally, we did get to insert a token into the fire breathing Kaskaskia Dragon!

We thank everyone for their prayers of safe travel. We feel them. We also want to thank those who gave us some scripture to read as we go. Below are today’s verses. They tell us to be faithful, trust Him, serve one another, and He will watch over us.

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

1 Peter 1:8-9

8 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 4:10

10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Mark 11:24

24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
